What is Round Table? Round Table is essentially a social club for men from the ages of 18 to 45. We meet a couple of times a month and usually there's a meal and a beer involved!!! There's a varied programme of activities throughout the year and so a good craic is had by all. Have a look at the syllabus page to see the events we get up to. It is not an exclusive club and this is evident by the members we have!!! It is also forbidden to discuss religion and politics so there's hardly any fighting. We also try and raise money for good causes along the way and many local people and organisations have benefited. We also undertake larger events such as the Carnival and the New Year Fireworks. If you want more info or are interested in joining, please feel free to contact any of our members. They'll tell you all you need to know. GO ON - WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
What's Next?
Eddie Mould is back in the "Fould" as our new Honorary President. Taking a back seat is Duncan Mackinnon who was honoured by being made only our second Honorary Life Member for his services to Round Table, and in particular Stornoway & District Round Table.
Previous Events Mr & Mrs Macleod - congratulations to Lorraine and Donald who tied the knot on Friday 6th April 2007 - a Good Friday indeed!! Burns Supper 2007 - another outstanding night in the presence of the Depute Lord-Lieutenant and the Area Chairman. Superb 'stabbing' by Mr Turley and fantastic speeches by Donald, Benny & Lisa. Outward Bound - good weekend in Valtos. Highlight was Ali getting badged in wellies!!! Click here for pics. Car Treasure Hunt - another triumph organised by Mr Turley. Pity he couldn't organise the midges. Well deserved winning team comprised of John Murdo, Fraser & Terry. Other prize winners included Willie, Benny & Innes. To those who didn't win a prize, better luck next time (to be fair to Angela, it was her team mates who let her down)!!! Clay Pigeon - good night started with Fraser's badging. Click here for photos. We were joined by Paul Duke once again and by Tim, Chris & dodgy Keith from the fireworks company (only joking Keith). John Murdo stole the show once again closely followed by the Laird!!!
Meetings to be held on the first and third Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted. 7.30 for 8.00 at the Cabarfeidh Hotel, Stornoway. Apologies, visitors and guests must be intimated to the Secretary before 12 noon on the day of the meeting. Secretary: Paul Macaskill Stornoway & District Round Table
