Visits In July, we welcomed Carl Evans from Tenby RT and his pal Steve, who were up doing a course at the Coastguard station. Had a few beers and organised a collection for Steve's phonecalls home!!!!
Two Spotty Dogs came up for the weekend at the beginning of September and we thoroughly enjoyed having them. Treated Kevin & Simon to a Casino night followed by a wedding dance the following evening. They then had a day's fishing where there were scary things sleeping behind rocks!!! The Area Meeting was held in Wick on the 8th of October. Five from Stornoway went on the Octoberfest tour - Mash, Sheep, Benny, Duncan & Robert. Joining them was Area Vice Colin Turnbull & Prospective Tabler Doug Fotheringham from Isle of Skye 1133. I'm delighted to say that National Conference Convener Graham Drummond was also there. The cunning plan included staying with our Honorary Member Murray Lamont (Wick & District 975) on Friday, visiting Orkney on the Saturday under the "stewardship" of Stewart Ross (Orkney 1125), staying with Chris Milroy (Inverness 105) on the Sunday, and travelled back to Stornoway on the Monday - what a weekend!! Meetings A few attended the unofficial 'culture' meeting performed by the Stornoway Thespians on Thursday 30th September. The Chairman & the Area Chairman had another appointment so unfortunately couldn't attend (Rangers won on penalties by the way).
